Re: auction alert North Carolina
I believe Chris is in SC, we have some friendly and accommodating board members(and non members) that are probably a lot closer(an hour away or so). Keep an eye on the speaker forum at AK this evening as i think you'll see a thread emerge about some Legatos that one of those fella's are picking up today.

"Isn't Chris/Oface1 down that way? "
Yes I am, I saw the post and looked up on google maps. I am exactly 315 miles from that location.
I meant to post last night , but I just came in from hiking from the other side of NC ( about 15 miles worth). I was beat and went to bed pretty early.
If you need someone to grab these for you, lets work something out.
Drop me a pm or email me @ (oface) (1) @ (gmail) (.)com, just drop the spaces and the parentheses.
I just tried and call the Mr. Boyd guy ans see what the reserve was, but did not get a hold of anyone. Wonder what it is, and what happens if they do not get the reserve? Has anyone won anything from these state auctions? I saw a couple here locally in Columbia, SC, but it seemed to much like a Bubba-ran job/operation with little organization.

Trouble is if you're in SC that puts them even farther away for either myself or OldGuy. I think I'm still out.
Do you even have room to store them...... right on top of your 817's I suppose :p
Re: auction alert North Carolina
Actually my desire has gone down a bit now that we've id'ed the cabs...
anybody wants them, jump on 'em.
Gov Deals is legit...if you don't play by the rules they kick you off. I have bought before, but closer to home...
Re: auction alert North Carolina
Well Shoot.... I can't even see what they went for. Either the seller pulled the auction or it takes awhile for the auction to show up in the past auction search.
Re: auction alert North Carolina
OG, no problem.
I just noticed in your original post that you stated they were not going to work with you on getting them ready to ship or get picked up. My thought was I would've picked them up and have you make the arrangements to be picked up form my garage. Iwould hve asked for a few bucks for gas and a $12 Uhaul trailer or box trailer.....
AbGW,
Storage would not have been a problem, the 817's are tucked in the corners very nicely with some other sets of speakers on top of them!

It appears reserve wasn't reached and they were pulled.
Re: auction alert North Carolina
Wonder what the reserve was?

Re: auction alert North Carolina
I emailed the fellow, suggested he just ask minimum as opening bid...he wrote back thanks and they will be relisted today.
Dunno if he is taking my advice...
Re: auction alert North Carolina
Well I have noticed through out the years, that govliquidation.com has upped their intial bid form a once $25 to now you have to open with $150 now.....
I guess they got wise, I use to see all kinds of nice speakers and equipment,, but look slike things are drying up ...
Just would like to know what the reserve bid was on the speakers that you posted........
